Rise of the Cosmic_Emperor

Chapter 495 - Makena And Dhruv.

"Mmnghh" Makena tried and failed to stifle a moan as Hal\'s hands on her shoulders made her feel good.

Then she looked back at Hal,

"That\'s your plan? To seduce me?" She asked.

Hal sighed as he began massaging Makena\'s shoulders. Increasing the pleasure she was already feeling,

"It is certainly a desire of mine. But my plan in regards to helping you doesn\'t really have anything to do with that.

As you must have surmised by now, cultivation aside, I possess certain unique traits..." Hal began and Makena interrupted,

"Like being a Devil perhaps?" She asked and looked up at him with knowing eyes.

Hal grinned and his eyes went nightmarish dark for a second before returning to normal,

"Exactly. And I believe it\'s just what you need to defeat your enemy" he said and all through this, he kept massaging Makena\'s shoulders with the Silver moon sect head feeling the pleasuring effect increasing the longer it went on.

"I don\'t want any help. You don\'t understand. If I wanted assistance, I could have gotten it from many who would be more than happy to offer their assistance. But any attempt at requesting external help would not actually make a difference" Makena said.

"Why not?" Hal asked.

Makena sighed and closed her eyes as she let herself drift into the pleasuring feeling of Hal\'s touch,

"You don\'t understand" she said.

"Very well then. How about you help me understand" Hal said and reached out to the connection now between them to access Makena\'s memories.

There was actually no resistance other than the normal difficulty of penetrating the mind of a Cosmic saint.

A speed run of all Hal saw in Makena\'s memories;

First off, the reason the Silver moon sect only accepts female disciples is not because they are the \'purest\' of mankind as they have always claimed. It was because the main bloodline, the only one that could actually sit at the helm of the sect, Makena\'s bloodline, could only have female children.

The first of the Bloodline who had actually first forged a connection to the crystal ball that now serves, or more accurately, used to serve as the center of the sect, had been the wife of a Dreg noble who was obsessed with having a male heir.

After giving him four daughters he never appreciated, she grew tired of being maltreated and left him along with her daughters. Eventually, she found the crystal ball, forged her connection with it, and began her life of soothsaying.

That career eventually spawned into a full-grown superpower in the Dreg Duchy and since it had been proven through her daughters who had their own affairs to have children, that they could only have female children, they made it an all-female sect.

Sentimentality. Nothing more.

Anyway, as Sect head and, due to certain unfortunate circumstances, the last remaining member of the main bloodline, Makena wished to have children.

And that was when her relationship with Dhruv Dreg began.

While not having any real chance at becoming Duke due to not being from the main family, Dhruv was very talented... He was also infatuated with Makena as she was with him.

Infatuation aside though, the two knew they were only using each other. Makena was using him to have children and preserve her bloodline and he was using her as a potential backup for when he would vie for the title of Duke from the undeserving main family.

Makena never planned to help him and always had an edge thanks to her foreseeing abilities.

Dhruv could never catch her by surprise.

Or so she thought.

When the monument of Ordinances appeared five hundred years ago, the two went in intending to comprehend Abstract Ordinances.

And they did.

Further evidence of their talents but while Makena comprehended the Abstract Ordinance of Reality, as though the universe wished to truly screw with her, Dhruv comprehended the Ordinance of Destiny.

Which he used to protect himself from her sights.

Suddenly, Makena lost her one sure advantage over her lover.

He could now catch her by surprise.

When the Dreg Duke finally reached the end of his lifespan, it was about time to choose who would succeed him as Duke and as Dhruv expected, he was passed up.

So he turned to Makena for help and she rejected him.

"I\'ve seen the future of the Duchy under your rule and it\'s not promising" she had said.

Obviously referring to a previous vision at a time before he could protect himself with his Ordinance of Destiny.

"Why? Because I will threaten your sect\'s authority in the Duchy? Well, my plans have actually changed Makena. I was shortsighted to be after the title of Duke when there will always be the Silver moon sect to look up to.

To bow to.

I\'d rather burn it to the ground" Dhruv said.

H had then realized that as long as the Silver moon sect existed, he would never be able to act as he wished and the first course of action should be to take them down.

He and Makena battled.

Dhruv never had any hope of victory and that was before members of the Silver moon sect, his daughter Makena included, joined in to offer their assistance no matter how small.

Dhruv lost and with his threat of burning down the Silver moon sect, there was no way Makena could let him live but when she attempted to kill him, the talented Dreg managed to escape and vanish from their sights.

Owing mostly to his Ordinance of Destiny keeping him hidden.

Since then, Dhruv went silent.

It was just one month ago that he sent a letter to the Silver moon sect, addressing them in general even though the message was clearly meant for Makena.

He knew all their defenses. Nothing they could try could keep him out. He would make good on his promise and burn the Silver moon sect to the ground and once he was done with that, he would claim his place as the Duke of the Dreg Duchy.

This time Dhruv was coming with an Army all protected from the Sect\'s foreseeing abilities by his Ordinance of Destiny.

This time he was coming prepared.

This time he was using his Ordinance of Destiny to the height and using it to predict actions to be taken by anyone in the Silver moon sect.

While not as potent as the \'foreseeing\' of the Crystal ball which was more on the level of Ordinance Harnessing of the Ordinance of Destiny, it was more than enough to let the Dreg man plan accurately ahead.

It was why Makena was worried.

In an actual fight with Dhruv, she was confident in her own strength but with him bringing with him an army that could wreak havoc on her sect while she battled her former lover, she felt that even with victory she would still lose.

Hal began to converse with the Artifact in his mind space,

\'Grimmy, by any chance, how accurate or intricate would the foresight of an Insight level Ordinance of Destiny comprehension be?\' He asked.

\'Quite accurate but not really intricate. At least not intricate enough to see your unique natures. In other words, this Dhruv fellow will \'see\' the Sect gain reinforcements of a single man. He might even see your cultivation if he focuses hard enough.

However, the true implications of your presence and what it truly means to his upcoming assault will be totally lost on him\' The artifact said.

Hal Smiled,

\'Nice\'
